There have been a lot of questions recently regarding the
viability of CMRAA and what the Executive board is doing.
We would like to take this opportunity to explain:
First of all, unlike Dave Hennessy who founded and ran
CMRAA, the current Board Members which include the President were basically left on our own when Dave passed away. Around the same time we lost some key players who took with them a great deal of knowledge that we had
yet to acquire.
While we were fumbling around trying to get things back
on track and relying on guidance from people such as Herman Osario, Bill Burnett, Larry Boales and Bruce Stanton, we suddenly
found ourselves without their experience and knowledge. Larry Boales was no longer
available, Herman Osario (our Legislative Analyst) had to quit due to health reasons, Bill Burnett retired to travel and Bruce
Stanton was hired by GSMOL.
So, there we were, the Executive Board left alone to sink
or swim. Our dedication to Mobile Home residents and our determined perseverance over the last couple of years has given us
the the opportunity to acquire a great deal of knowledge and we have kept CMRAA afloat and stopped it from disappearing. It should be noted that at this point CMRAA
is very much alive and we are continuing to work hard on behalf of mobile home residents.
We realize that in the recent past, we have not been able to send out frequent newsletters, however, this will
be changing in the New Year. Please bear with us.
Health issues have greatly influenced the lack of a newsletter; our efforts were to help mobile home residents with
their issues and to keep apprised of legislative issues.
Some of you have asked if we have merged with GSMOL and
Como-Cal. We are still separate and distinct organizations, however, we have
continually strived to co-operate with these two organizations in getting protective mobile home bills passed. We have maintained a working relationship with them and are all working together for the same goals.
So. For those
of you who have questions about our viability, please take into consideration that we are continuing to do the best we can
and are succeeding, though it may not have been as quickly and as publically as we may have wished for.
That being said….We really need for more members to be involved and to help us out. If you have a small amount to time to give, please contact us and we will gladly accept
what you can give. The goal is to maintain the rights and welfare of all residents who live in Mobile Homes.
Remember…….CMRAA
remains alive and well and will continue to be so.
